As speakers, it is about designing a presentation to connect with the audience so as to engage, entertain and inspire.

Presentations are tailored (and can be linked to your organisation’s goals) using personal stories woven with imagery, humour and practical steps of reachability for listeners.

We are passionate, professional and focus on attention to detail so as meaningful connections and conversations are remembered long after the speaking itself.

Previous speaking opportunities have been key-notes at conferences or training seminars; after dinner enlightenment at industry-specific functions; and as guest speakers at school assemblies.

TESTIMONIALS

Organisation: Inspired – Helping develop your leadership, performance and productivity skills.

Presentation Type: Key-note

Duration: 40 minutes

Presentation Title: Simplicity, Dream-Design-Do

Organisation Goals: Having recently cycled across Canada by tandem (7,500 kms) and walked the North Island of New Zealand section of the Te Araroa Trail (1,620 kms), we were asked to present our philosophy and tools used to create a lifestyle that focuses on doing what matters most with more purpose, substance and meaning.  The smarter T.I.M.E. habits and Best Year Ever 3-3-5-3 tools could be applied to all areas of life, whether professional or personal.

“Brent and Claire Ruru are a delight to work with.  They follow through on their commitments and that makes organising an event so much easier.  On the day they connected with the audience and had an inspirational message that was just what my audience needed.  They were fun, on time and passionate which makes any presentation go really well.”

– Mike Caton, ‘Inspired’ Seminar Series Founder (www.mikecatton.co.nz)

“Dear Brent and Claire,

I really loved your talk today at the “Inspired Seminar” in Christchurch.  I could not have thought of a timelier topic than yours.

In the Buddhist tradition, the – mind of discrimination, attachment and release are all seen as the struggle between living in “hell” or living in heaven” here and now.  Your message is just that – Simplify, by just being here and now with a clear focus on where you want to go.

Everyone needs this message – corporate leaders, small business owners or kids just looking for a clear view of the world.  Your “Dream, Design & Do” anthem is just that.

This is the highest level of work needing to be done on the planet in my opinion and you both are living examples of it.

Well done and I hope more people get to hear your message personally as I did.”

– Dr. Patterson Stark, BSc, DC, ABAAHP, DIAPPL, AICAK, AACNEM

Diplomate of the International Academy of Prevention Performance and Longevity

“Brent and Claire are earthy real kiwis. On 23 March at Inspired they gave an earthy and entertaining speech re their quest for simplifying their lives in recent years. As the event was ‘Inspired’ that’s exactly what I felt, it did not matter ‘how much money I had’, if you want more out of life. You can. You choose. They have, and in their words, they are ‘not superhuman’. But, some of their adventures could appear superhuman (to some).

Brent and Claire are ‘in sync’, and this showed in their speech, they ‘danced with each other’. Beautiful really. Soul mates.

If you get a chance to hear their story. Take it. It could just be the start you need.”

Presentation Title: Become Remarkable

Organisation Goals: Retention of customer base and new business growth; driving the hunger to succeed; seeing through obstacles through end goal focus.

“The strategies Brent imparted were outstanding.  He shared real-world techniques instead of sales theories leaving participants with the key to unlocking their potential to become remarkable sales people and beyond in their personal lives.  The ability to connect and hold their attention for the entire presentation time reflected in the feedback from all participants as exceptional.

Brent’s professional common sense no-nonsense approach incorporating personal experiences and humour were refreshing.  I would not hesitate to recommending Brent for any Sales Team training workshops, seminars or key-note presentation.”

– Warren Angus, Head of Business Customer, DHL Global Forwarding

“The life lessons learnt were translated back to the audience in a way that was relevant to us.  Inspirational.”

– Michelle Hemingway-Rushton, Key Account Specialist, DHL Global Forwarding

Your talk today to the Year 8 Leavers of St Joseph’s School was absolutely spot-on for its target market.  You were not referred to as ‘that guy’ but from my 13 year old son as ‘this really cool guy’.  That makes it a 10 out of 10 in kids’ speak.

Thank you for a truly motivational talk”

Organisation: Toastmasters New Zealand

Presentation Type: International Speech Competition

Duration: 5-7 minutes

Presentation Title: The Giving Touch

In May 2014, I contested the finals of the New Zealand Toastmasters International Speech Competition, competing against nine of New Zealand’s best.  The winner represented New Zealand Toastmasters at the World Championships.

Titled “The Giving Touch”, it was a speech about my efforts learning the Ukelele so as to busk for a day to raise money for Ronald McDonald House South Island, and tick off items on a ’50 Things To Do List’ in competition with my children.

Although not placed, I was not deflated by the experience.  How could I be?

I was up against a fellow New Zealand Toastmaster who came second in the WORLD Toastmasters Championships in 2013.
